A restorative, trauma-informed healing experience for men—and for the leaders committed to walking alongside them.

Why Attend?

Men carry stories they’ve never been given permission to speak. Abuse. Violence. Father wounds. Incarceration. Addiction. Shame. Silence. And too often, society tells them to “man up” instead of opening up. The Brother’s Healing: Male Trauma Mastermind exists to change that.

Hosted by the Institute for Urban Behavioral Health, in collaboration with the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) Master of Social Work Program and The Survivors Circle, this session creates a powerful space where men can be Seen. Heard. Safe.

On Founder’s Day, we’re gathering practitioners, leaders, helpers, and community voices to explore trauma-informed strategies for supporting men impacted by abuse, violence, trauma, and substance use—while also offering a healing-centered space for honest conversation and shared truth.

What Makes This Different

This isn’t a lecture.
This isn’t performative talk.
This isn’t surface-level motivation.

This is a restorative dialogue experience where real insight meets real healing.

You’ll walk away with:

  • Trauma-informed frameworks you can immediately apply

  • Cultural understanding of how men internalize pain

  • Language that helps wounded men feel safe enough to speak

  • Strategies that support healing without shame, pressure, or judgment

  • A deeper understanding of how trauma affects behavior, relationships, and coping
